Delphi (7-17 pax)

One-day excursion to the legendary Mount Parnassus, on the slopes of which the ancient city of Delphi is located.

Delphi is a place that inspires special reverence. Steep rocks soar into the sky, sheer cliffs pass into gentle slopes, and  lower are the ruins of the ancient city. Delphi captivate with its size and variety of monuments reminding you of a turbulent history.

For the people of the ancient world, Delphi was the main place on earth, where the "navel of the earth" "omphalos" was located. The most authoritative oracle of Apollo was located in Delphi, and the ancient Greeks loved to look into the future and had a great addiction to prophecy. In the central part of the sanctuary is the Temple of Apollo, where the legendary Pythia spoke mysterious predictions on behalf of God.

The lower level is dedicated to the goddess Athena, and is characterized by one of the most beautiful monuments of antiquity - a rotunda with columns.

The ancient stadium of the 5th century BC deserves attention.  The Pythian Games were held here every 4 years. Initially, wooden seats were installed in the stadium, but the modern look was acquired in the second century under Herod. At the same time, a triumphal arch was built at the entrance. Scientists estimate that the stadium could accommodate 6.5 thousand people .

The nearby museum contains numerous treasures, including the famous statue of the Charioteer, Chicken, Sphinx and other artifacts from antiquity and Roman times.

The Delphic Archaeological Complex is included in the UNESCO heritage list. To be here means to touch history, see the center of the world, the "navel of the earth". Delphi is a real miracle of ancient history, where people believe predictions, the Pythia broadcasts the fate of the world, and Apollo communicates with the Delphic echo. In good weather, everyone will be able to hear the voice of Delphi, realizing that only here the history becomes reality.
