We bring to your attention the new route Dodoni - Ioannina - Metsovo - Meteora, which combines historical, Orthodox and natural monuments of continental Greece.

From the port of Kerkyra in the early morning we will go to the mainland of Greece, on the way enjoying sea beauties and aromatic Greek coffee. Arriving at the port of Igoumenitsa we will go to Dodoni by the comfortable bus. Here in ancient times was the second most important (after the Delphic) oracle, which was mentioned in Homer's Odyssey. Once the local sanctuary was dedicated to Zeus himself, and pilgrims from vast territories flocked here. You will have the opportunity to touch antiquity and take a walk through the excavations where the stadium, theater and other buildings have been preserved.

Further, we suggest  you to change the atmosphere and visit the wax museum of Pavlos Vrellis, where all the compositions are devoted to the heroic history of northern Greece.

The next point on the trip will be Ioannina - a distinctive city on the lake, hidden among mountain ranges and green groves. Here the group will be offered lunch in a traditional tavern and free time for a walk.

The finishing touch of the first day will be a visit to Metsovo. It is one of the most celebrated villages in the Epirus region. A town where time has stopped and the air itself is saturated with tranquility. It seems that the locals have found the perfect balance and have learned to live in harmony with nature. Traditions are still honored and observed here; life flows measuredly and obeys some of its own, unique rules that have formed over the centuries. In Metsovo you will get a taste of Greece. The village is known throughout Europe for its cheeses and wines.

At the end of the day you will meet the sunset overlooking the soaring in the air Meteora monasteries in the village of Kalambaka .

The second day - visiting the monasteries of Meteora ( Christian monasteries of Meteora (included in the UNESCO heritage list), based on high steep rocks, majestically directed into the sky, evoke an indescribable feeling that combines fear and admiration at the same time. "The Eighth Wonder of the World" - this is how they call this place. And it's just a pale attempt to convey in words the greatness of Meteora, the amazing combination of natural beauty and the strength of the human spirit.

"Soaring in the air" - this is how the name Meteora is translated. The stunning landscape of the Thessalian Plain is composed of hundreds of cliffs that shoot up into the sky like giant teeth. Over time, the rocks have acquired the most bizarre shapes and resemble a "stone city". Monasteries of the 14-16th centuries are located on their peaks in an incredible way: priceless monuments of history and culture with their richest collections of icons, frescoes and special architecture.

The way these monasteries were built remains a mystery to these days. During the heyday of monastic life, in the 16th century, 24 monasteries were simultaneously opened here. Nowadays there are only six active ones: four male and two female. All of them are available for tourists. Today the Meteora Monasteries are one of the most visited attractions in Greece. Photos of Meteora have long been the hallmark of tourist and pilgrimage Greece.
