Corinth - Monastery of St. Patapios - Cape Ireon - Lake Vouliagmeni (1-6 pax)

In the early morning we will depart for the city of Corinth. Corinth was one of the largest centers of Ancient Greece, which flourished in the XVII – XVI centuries BC . From those times   the ruins of the majestic temple of Apollo with its monolithic columns survived till nowadays. The Roman period is presented much richer: the temple of Octavia, the fountain of the Pyrenees, the baths of Eurekles, etc.  Apostle Paul lived and preached here for a yea and a half. His two letters to the Corinthians included in Bible. Approaching Ancient Corinth  pay attention to Acrocorinth and the Corinth Canal.

Acrocorinth is a mountain about 670 meters high with a panoramic view. The canal connecting  Aegean and  Ionian Sea located 4 km from Ancient Corinth. Digged at the end of the XIX century, it makes a strong impression today. Next by the program you are visiting  one of the most famous monasteries in Greece - the female monastery of the Monk Patapius which is located at an altitude of 700 m above sea level, 14 km from the resort town of Loutraki. The monastery contains the imperishable relics of the great saint of the 4th century Patapius. The next stop is Cape Ireon, where the magnificent ruins of the sanctuary of the goddess Hera are located. You will not only walk through the picturesque territory of the former ancient temple, but  also be able to see undersea the remains of the ancient city, which sank as a result of an earthquake. A short lunch stop and a swim in Lake Ireon with crystal clear water complete this tour.
