Meteora (Euboea, 1-6 pax)

Meteora’s Christian monasteries, based on gigantic steep cliffs, majestically directed towards the sky, create an indescribable feeling that combines fear and admiration at the same time. “The Eighth Wonder of the World” it's how they call this place. And this is just a pale attempt to convey in words the greatness of the Meteora with their amazing combination of natural beauty and the greatness of the human spirit.  

Meteora means “Soaring in the air”. Stunning landscapes make up hundreds of rocks that are directed towards the sky like giant teeth. Rocks over time have acquired the most bizarre shapes and resemble a "city of rocks." The monasteries of the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries are incredibly located on their peaks: priceless historical and cultural monuments with their richest collections of icons, frescoes and special architecture. And at the base of these stone giants is the picturesque village of Kalambaka.

The way these monasteries were built remains a mystery until nowadays. During the heyday of monastic life in the 16th century 24 monasteries were simultaneously opened here. Nowadays there are only six active ones: four male and two female. All of them are available for tourists. Today the Meteora Monasteries are one of the most visited attractions in Greece. Photos of Meteora have long been the hallmark of tourist and pilgrimage Greece.

• wear comfortable shoes for your comfort;
• entrance tickets and lunch are paid additionally;
• visiting holy places provides for a certain form of clothing: for men, long trousers and covered shoulders; for women - skirt below the knee, covered neckline and shoulders;
• group maximum 16 people / visit 2 monasteries;
• the excursion program can be changed in case of force majeure circumstances, according to weather conditions or at the discretion of the guide;
• duration: full day.
