Monasteries of Corfu - one-day pilgrimage - south (1-16 people)

The pilgrimage will start with the Monastery of St. Kyriaki in the village of Kuramades - this is the newest monastery on the island. The monastery was founded on the site of the ancient church of St. Kyriaki in 1999. The architecture of the monastery is not typical for Corfu. The main temple (catholicon) is a cross-domed church, the bell tower of Athos type contains ten bells. The brotherhood of the monastery is engaged in various obedience, crafts. The aromatic oils of the monastery made by the monks of the monastery are especially famous. Next is the monastery of the Great Martyr Paraskeva in the village of Kinopyastes.

This is an amazingly beautiful place in the mountains, 8 kilometers from the city of Kerkyra. The main shrines of the monastery are the great miraculous icon of the great martyr Paraskeva and the largest surviving part of her relics is the right hand. Here, pilgrims will be able to visit the Church of the Virgin Mary of the 14th century, deeply revered by local residents.

Next, the pilgrims will visit the monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos of Kasopitra. This monastery is located five kilometers from the center of Kerkyra on the Kanoni Peninsula, not far from one of the most iconic places in the vicinity - the island of Pondiconisi with a small monastery of the Blacherna Icon of the Mother of God. The main shrine of the Monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos of Casopitra is a miraculous icon depicting the Most Holy Theotokos, which puts new eyes on a teenager who is unjustly blamed and blinded by a judgment of the Venetian court. Since then, the Most Holy Theotokos Kasitopra has been praying for healing from eye diseases.

The pilgrimage will end with a visit to the temple of the holy apostles Jason and Sosipatra and the worship of their holy relics.

• visiting holy places provides a certain form of clothing: for men, long trousers and covered shoulders; for women - a skirt below the knee, covered line of the neckline and shoulders;
