Athens + Meteora (2 days)

A two-day excursion to Meteora and Athens will allow you to get acquainted with two "Greek wonders" within one excursion route.

The first day - the famous Meteora monasteries (included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.) They are among the most revered centers of pilgrimage for all Orthodox Christians. At the same time, Meteora is one of the most famous and popular sights of Greece. The imposing cliffs rushing up from the flat surface of the Thessalian Plain and reaching an altitude of 600 meters are a rare geological phenomenon. A few hundred years ago Orthodox monasteries were erected in an incomprehensible way on the tops of meteor rocks, which to this day inspire in the souls of visitors delight and awe for the forces of nature and the capabilities of the human spirit.

At the end of the excursion a stop for lunch  (at own expense) and a transfer to Athens is planned. Accommodation at the hotel of Athens (breakfast, dinner at the hotel are included in the price of the excursion).

The second day is a visit to Athens, the capital of Greece, a city with a great history and a rich modern life. In addition to the majestic Acropolis, you will visit the world-renowned New Museum of the Acropolis of Athens, which opened its doors to visitors from all over the world in June 2009. Besides, a professional guide will acquaint you with the main attractions of Athens, this ancient and amazing city: the Areopagus hill; Dionysus Theater; the odeon of Herodotus Atticus; White marble Panathena stadium; the neoclassical buildings of the University of Athens, the National Library and the Greek Parliament, where a colorful changing of the guard of honor takes place. The excursion will end with a walk through the old town.

On the way back the bus will make a stop at Thermopylae Gorge, at the Great Leonidas and the invincible Spartans monument .

The Meteora and Athens tour is an opportunity to get acquainted with the cultural, historical and Orthodox heritage of Greece.

• be sure to have a passport and insurance with you for hotel accommodation;
• wear comfortable shoes for your comfort;
• entrance tickets and lunch are paid additionally;
• visiting holy places requires a certain form of clothing: for men long trousers and covered shoulders; for women - skirt below the knee, covered neckline and shoulders;
• providing accommodation in Athens - 3 * hotel (breakfast / dinner) in 2 and 3-bed rooms.
